How the BICUUM Double Cone Vacuum Dryer Works
The BICUUM (MBC-S) is a double cone vacuum dryer with a rotating drum, designed for batch drying of heat-sensitive products at low pressure (< 1 mbar). The entire drum is heated and insulated to maximise heat transfer, while the slow rotation continuously renews the product in contact with the heated walls.
This combination of gentle movement and efficient heat transfer ensures short drying times, low energy consumption and uniform product quality. The soft tumbling motion preserves product morphology, preventing particle damage or deformation.
The dryer features a fully sealed construction with simple mechanics and low maintenance requirements. It can be supplied in a sanitary version with CIP/SIP systems and optional ATEX certification.
